Why are people panicking?....Well I can'y say for everyone, but I guess it's early days to say where we are really, & so many people have lost their jobs, income etc, they're frightened to go out, some arseholes DO go out with the possibility of further infections, IMHO many are just ****ting themselves because they don't know what the future holds for them, None of us do I guess! However, I believe that if EVERYONE did as they were told & kept the self isolating rule, we could beat this,..trouble is I reckon there are too many selfish know alls who disregard & infect,....what to do I don't know,..in some countries they'd shoot 'em, but in Aussie???
But Bob, a few more graphs like the one you've shown would be "very good medicine" IMHO.

Lets get some perspective on this. The majority of infections in Australia have come from people returning from overseas , either by air, or ship. I doubt any of these people deliberately set to move about the community. It was a mistake from government that let those that did, slip thru. So far as I know, all people who came in contact with these infected people have been/ are being traced , and put into isolation. There is the not unexpected rise in community transmission, but only minor at this stage. If you follow the procedure as recommended , with the correct hygiene, and self isolation, your chances of infection are minimal, if not non existent. This is not Italy, we don't live cheek to jowl, not Iran, we have the infrastructure to cope. There are measures in place so that you don't have to leave your home for any reason, food can be delivered, the doctor is a phone call away, you can even telehealth it. Turn off all commercial radio, and TV. Only turn the ABC on in the morning and evening for an update. During the day, turn on to a classical music station and chill out. Glass of wine optional. I go for a bike ride along the beachfront, to get out of the house.[ that's allowed] On a beautiful day like today, looking across to Moreton Island in the distance, well, it doesn't get any better than this. It settles my mind, and helps me to remain positive. Find your good head space, and live there. Do some yoga, clear your mind. Concentrate on your little World, your Wife , house , garden. You may see it all in a different light. Forget the outside World, pull up the drawbridge. Reflect on your inner self. Whatever it takes to focus on something positive in your life, I would hate to see all this stress you are building up put you into hospital.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
