I can also report that its getting a bit nasty out there, as fear spreads.
Public parks are being closed. People who go to the park are being glared at.
Roadside rest spots way out in the scrub are being shut. Residents of towns are demanding that travellers move on.
I kept expecting to hear someone shouting 'Unclean'.
Police are telling people stopped in rest spots to move on. Travellers are being ordered to overnight in particular caravan parks, with crappy facilities (literally).
Yet, amid all this closing of facilities, while some caravan parks are made to shut down, motels are allowed to remain open.
Fear is everywhere. Towns which six months ago were begging travelers to stop are now ordering them to move on.
Australia is losing its outward friendliness and becoming inward looking and paranoid.
