That looks like an insect eating one,not a fruit bat.?
Our dog ate half a fruit bat the other week,it was dead before she got to it.I rang the vet,he said the dog can’t catch anything from the bat.
Seemed a strange answer as a mate had a greyhound die after it caught a fruit bat,a few years ago.His vet said the dog had caught a virus from the bat.
So who knows.
Anyway,our dog seems OK![]()
I wonder how long before some "expert"/Authority will ban Cricket Bats, Beach Tennis Bats, Baseball Bats?
No? You want to bet?![]()
One doesn't have any street cred unless one owns an Aluminum Baseball Bat. Oh, & how to use it.![]()
Thanks. The privacy paper was reassuring. If those safeguards are actually legislated when parliament sits next month then a lot of concerns might be eased.
It appears from reading it that, while the initial registration is to the data store, the actual data collected by the phone might only be uploaded from the phone after the user gave permission, because the user had been in contact with a positive person, which seems good.
When they release the code the experts will be able to check if it confirms the promises made by the government about privacy.
Also, the data collected is less than what Facebook or Google routinely collect.
Its just a pity the government's record on privacy is so poor that it is making people justifiably suspicious.
Well judging by the initial response, it appears that plenty of people disagree with you.
Why do I say that?...In the first five hours of the App being available 1.1M+ Aussies have "signed up", the Govt Health Minister is thrilled as The Govt had thought that it would take a week to get to this stage.
Pickles.
There has been no independent checking of what the authorities have said on this - if you believe the Government then great But based on their past record I will not be installing this.
As I highlighted before - if it does not use GPS what does it ask for approval to access the GPS.
I might change my mind after credible independent assessment of this app, but until then no thanks.
