A bit vague eh Ron?? Maybe parts from Rumania may be as good as the Lucas "used to be", then again, maybe not.

Does the supplier buy them from WhereverLand in Asia? It shouldn't need to be like this but hey ho, that is the world we appear to exist in today.

I don't think the government should buy Virgin Australia, but I do think it should ensure the employees are looked after. Maybe it could buy the $451m in employee entitlements and require any purchaser of Virgin Australia to buy back the employee entitlements, to ensure the employees are looked after.

    How about ****ing NO!
Government doesn’t buy anything - we the taxpayer do.

Sorry people, you lost your annual leave etc, that sucks.
I’ve been in business before and had hundreds of thousands of dollars ‘stolen’ when businesses went bust. As a small business owner how do you think that goes?

I hope it all gets sorted out for them, and wish them all the best.

Virgin is just yet another business in the common model.
Run at marginal operating and massive debt.
Accrue more debt than can be managed.
Tank when something doesn’t work out.
    Administration
    New owner with minimal debt
    Run for umpteen years
Go back to step 1 and repeat.

Agree 100% - don't want a cent of my tax spend bailing out a company that can't manage its books...

What we don't know about coronavirus. The effect on lungs is well documented, but it effects the brain, kidneys , heart and just about every major organ. And no one knows why. This is scary stuff, an update from The New Yorker.

Really death numbers are the only decent comparison and then they are a mess as not everyone is reporting all death.

In order highest "trend" of current deaths per capita (per million).

    Belgium 647
    Spain 519
    UK 384

Russia now has more than ninety thousand reported cases of the virus, with a curve that is still growing steadily upward; the pace of new infections is the second highest in the world, behind only the United States. (Russia’s growth rate has slowed some in recent days, settling at seven per cent per day.)
You left out Canada. 53021 cases, 3180 deaths. The infection rate in Russia is second only behind the USA.

US intelligence reports the coronavirus was" Not man made or genetically modified." The jury is still out on whether it was started thru contact with infected animals, or an accident at a laboratory in Wuhan. It must be pointed out that the Wuhan laboratory is not a secret, but one of many level 4 laboratories set up around the World to investigate various dangerous viruses that could pose a threat to mankind. In Wuhan, they were studying the sars-2 [ think that's it, the one before the current one] and in Australia it is the Hendra virus. In the USA I believe it is the Ebola virus, and so on around the World. Nothing sinister there, no secret labs in that lot.
