I predict in about 9 months there will be a lot of births and that generation will be called "coronials".

We are fortunate in Qld that we have a very decentralised State. Apart from the SE corner, that is. Soon the whole State will be opened up for travel. but only to Qlders. I firmly believe every family considering travel to other parts of the State, outside a certain radius from their home, should not be allowed travel until they have been tested negative. They should carry that negative test result with them, and present it to the local Policeman in each Town, or shire they intend to visit. No negative test, no entry. There is no point winging about some mythical " Eastern seaboard farce" , it's obvious Australia has done well in containing the virus so far. It's horses for courses, what works here may not work elsewhere as well. Victorians have more work to do, they should just knuckle down and do it. And the rest of Australia should give moral support, because just one slip up, and we will be in the same boat. Remember, this will not be over until there is a vaccine. So, put the tissues away, and get on with it.

Why a new invented word instead of the existing word "coronal"? English tends to add additional meanings to words rather than invent new words so close to existing words that confusion is easy, although there are exceptions.

Yep, it's easy to get tested and then the text message confirming you were negative is sitting on your phone, easily produced. Its a simple safeguard.

People are already travelling, which the Qld Government is encouraging, and that's good for struggling rural towns. Plenty of caravans on the highways up here. Few cases have been found outside the cities.

From what I've seen, many people are now being much more cautious about social distancing, hand-sanitising and general health precautions, which is good and there has already been a huge fall in the number of influenza cases.

We have read the regulations very carefully and made sure we are taking precautions which go well beyond the minimum required. When we do travel, we take all the necessary precautions, plus some. It is possible to legally move around and be safe.

So far there have not been any positives among our family or friends, so it is working. We're certainly not alone in being cautious.

Victoria's hotspots are all in local government areas including Melbourne, there are no hotspots in regional Victoria. More than half the new cases come from two family clusters, the Keilor Downs and the Coburg family clusters. They account for 25 new cases. To keep it under control the growth factor must be kept below 1.0. At present it is 1.12. Amazingly, it is stated that only two cases came from the protests so far, which seems incredible. They put that down to most wore masks. The Stamford Plaza and Rydges on Swanton outbreaks , where most workers live in Melbourne's suburbs, account for 30 cases.

Yes, every where we go , although that is not a lot of places, all people are pedantic about social distancing , and do so with good humour. Haven't seen any one needing to be told.

I'm with you, Bob. When at Bunnings a while ago, everybody in the store was aware of distancing, extremely courteous and good humoured. I was really impressed by the way a young father was quietly explaining to his single digit aged tackers about letting 'Grown-ups' into the aisles ahead of them. Obviously the guardian while Mum shopped.
    Restored a bit of faith.

I think the exact wording was that three positives had attended protests, but it is unlikely they were actually infected at the protests, which were three weeks ago now.

    A test is meaningless.

Never mind the fact that it is only a single point in time and you could be infected any minute after, false negatives are over 50% if you are not symptomatic.
