it's the ongoing effects of daylight saving , it had to build up, all those accumulated hours of sun for 6 mths each year weakens the system.
Dan Andrews has my respect for his handling of this situation. I like the way he says he is responsible and the buck stops with him. Not trying to avoid responsibility. Just stands up and takes it on the chin.
I wonder if he would be prepared to repeat that to a packed Court Room from the Witness Box after thousands have died because of his stuff ups?
I say no & the statement & wording would have been changed. Oh, there also would be a bucket of Whitewash in the back room just for this scenario. When out of the door for a **** he would be straight on to the next CHINA AIRWAYS Flight out of Tullarmarine before you could say Flied Lice.
Cynical? Moi?

Then just about every incumbent politician is going to bite the dust. Lets start at the top and make all of them responsible. I suspect the people are to blame for the second wave more than the politicians here. I just hope the tourists haven't just spread it all through Australia now, we will find out from 2 weeks.
Cheers

It'd be great to have a couple of Solar Panels wired to one's bonce to keep us energised right through Summer.
Putting one's Baseball cap on back to front for some dudes might be a bit awkward but hey, gotta be worth a try.

It seems the person who arranged the Security Contract should be first in line to have balls/tits stretched from the Hills Hoist. They did have a contract one presumes? If so, what were the conditions in it? Guards MUST be on site at all times would be one I feel sure would be stated otherwise why bother at all?
Probably, & once given the Green Light it was bound to happen as soon as Borders were opened. Seems to be too much faffing around with Border decisions/indecisions. Selfishly, IMHO they should have stayed closed until there was a clean bill of health in all States.
As you said 2 + weeks will tell the true story. Let us pray that it is a good one to read.
You gotta love Victoria,
The most draconian police force in the country where civilians risk their lives with each interaction with the police.
The most draconian road rule enforcement and money making system but road stats actually go up not down.
The most draconian lock down rules but they still have the highest community infection rate.
Yes, you gotta love the state of Victoria

I agree.
The pollies can only make the rules, It isn't their fault if some of the population tends to selfishly ignore/circumvent these rules for their own selfish reasons.
However saying that the VIC government really cocked it up with their **** weak response to this pandemic

I see the royal commission Andrews announced is already questioning the security companies about how much training they gave their staff before sending them into the quarantine hotels. The answer seems to be, not much.
The security staff would mostly be casuals without experience in infectious situations, so it's probably unfair to blame them if their employers failed to train them.
