Local shop yesterday Heather witnessed a guy come out of a grog shop without wearing his mask. Another shop keepers said something to him and the reply was " I'm exercising my civil Rights" and off we went carrying his slab.

Pretty annoying the grog shop owner served him and secondly he attitude some people still have in Victoria at this time. There are still reports off those who are supposed to be at home isolated aren't home when authorities door knock.
Rumor is Wed we might be at Stage 4 thanks to Vic citizens to taking it seriously. They need to speak to an ICU nurse and find out how pleasant it is seeing people in induced comas, were they are on life support and they wear nappies to soak up their body fluids whilst they are unconscious.

650 new cases in VIC and the very REAL possibility of stage 4 restrictions being imposed in that State, People Still being caught lying about their travel history when crossing State borders (God only knows how many have lied and gotten away with it) and the NSW situation Not getting any better.

Things are Not looking that good at the moment.

There seem to be a small number of people who aren't taking it seriously. From what I can see it's not based on ethnicity or class, it's arrogance, politics and delusion, whether it's the Aspen crew or in Fawkner. And from what I can see, it is a small number. Where I live everyone is masked and keeping apart, and that's across age, ethnicity and classes. The only exceptions were a couple of drunk 19 year olds who probably don't, for example, wear bike helmets either - so, the usual suspects.

We're also being kept in the dark about what's driving the infection rates - it just makes no sense to me. My workplace has over 700 people and we've been working remotely since the first and second week of March and we've had just one infection (who wasn't in the office at the time and hadn't been in the office for months), so that's just one household out of 700 with an infection. My wife's office building, with multiple companies with hundreds, if not thousands of employees, now mostly working from home, has had just two infections (the building management advises all tenants), so that's just two households out of hundreds. Her office is public facing, even now, and they've had no infections (NB, it's a Japanese entity so that probably helps - they've not only been wearing facemasks since March, they change their facemasks after every three public interactions.)

So where the **** are the infections coming from? Where are these workplaces riddled with infections? If they know where it is - abbatoirs for example, or buidling sites - why don't they close down those workplaces? What's holding them back?

JEEEEEZZUZ! I firmly believe what is now lacking with this thing is our Federal Leaders ( & some state ones as well) need to get some balls, big ones.. Appears to be a lot of pussy footing around & people taking the **** while some people still break the Law. No wonder Vic. is still in the ****.

Thoughts of re-election should not even come into this National Emergency but discipline should. They will all be renowned for their inaction & found wanting when History Books are written in the future. Lovely, who the **** wants that?

WW3? I doubt they could handle that if this Saga is any indication of their abilities & co-operation.

I love my country, being born & bred here & it really pains me to see how things are going with these people entrusted with our future existence.

Because testing is a snapshot of a week ago at best, and if results don't come back in a timely fashion the horse has already bolted by the time anyone is any the wiser.

And many of us can't work from home. All our service industries, basically any of us that keep everything running in the background.
The data people, sparkies, plumbers, cleaners, fridgeys, fire testing, etc etc. let alone retail, hospitality, health, aged care, etc.

Sounds like Melb. is heading towards a NZ-style Level 4 (Stage 4) lock down. Hurts but works.

IF anyone is to blame it is the individuals that have/are spreading this virus.
Whatever the Andrews Government does they cannot come out as a "Winner".
IF they impose stricter lockdowns and increase/enforce the penalties of these breaches of these lockdown provisions they will be "Demonized", If they maintain their "Softly Softly" approach they will also be demonized.

The Main onus for the spread of this virus is on the tiny minority of people that are breaking the rules and are the ones actually spreading this virus, Blaming the authorities May be soothing for some But the Main problem isn't being addressed and that is the Non compliance of the lockdown provisions by a minority that are causing all the grief and death.

state of disaster has been declared for vic, Melb starts a 8pm til 5am curfew tonight for next 6 weeks, no travel more than 5 kms from home. 1 person only allowed out for essentials.
restrictions on activities. We only have ourselves to blame.

600+ people/day community transmission with the bulk unable to be traced to a known source.

Can only happen if people aren't distancing, disinfecting, wearing masks and not following the other recommendations.

That's how it got away again, it was all but eliminated.
