Tinea, Athlete's foot? Always supplied at Public Swimming Pools when you left the Dressing Room but before going into the pond, as well as running through a row of cold water showers but not sure if that was for hygiene reasons or to stop young kids having a pair of Rolled Up Rugby Socks in their cossies.
