Royal Children's Hospital case linked to ward where cancer patients are treated

Coronavirus live news: Royal Children'''s Hospital case linked to ward where cancer patients are treated - ABC News

Room directly opposite. Entire ward had to be tipped, sanitised and anyone who had been out of their room had to be screened including any hospital staff who had been in the ward. Wife can't even make a cup of tea. Nothing like having to hold a 4 year old down and have a swab rammed up his nose _again_. Can't make this **** up.

Bloody Hell Brad, are you still in Vic? Don't look forward to Annual Holidays. You've had 'em.

Sounds a bit silly I know, but I hope all is gong ok for you & the family, considering.

Yes, it's a worry. You think you have it worked out, and it throws a curve ball. From what is going on around the World, it seems some of the best minds in the medical World have been blindsided by this COVID.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

We were due to be heading home in the next 2 weeks, but have had some hard to diagnose issues crop up which have set us back a bit and landed us back on the ward. I go in for my next 3 nights tomorrow. On the whole he's doing ok and we have managed a bit of time "at home", not that we can do anything. Day 100 post transplant tomorrow. That's a pretty big milestone in itself.

Checked the car yesterday. We've been here since 17th of June and we've just filled it up for the second time. At least we've not spent a lot on travel.

There's a park on Southgate St with a picnic table. You should stop for a socially distanced chat one day.

I caught up with my cousin for the first time last week. He's 7k's away but there's a park in the middle.

Wandering elephant in room.... IF 'herd immunity' only lasts 6 months, how long does the vaccine - induced 'immunity' last ? And, more to the point, are we sure ('cos we've been told in simple language) that the end-point of ALL vaccines under development is.... NON-infection, and not just a mild illness instead of a serious one... ?

NCT04516746 is the Astra Zeneca vaccine trial, Phase 3 Clinical Testing in the US of AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine Candidate Begins | National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Wade through that, and you'll discover they want to follow the lab rats for another two years, so not much hope of this being ready (safe & effective) in time for Trump's re-election. !

Better course of action is going back in Time, picking your parents for a safer blood group and strong immune system, live a life-style which keeps you away from T2 Diabetes and heart disease.... don't smoke and never get old. Stock up on HCQ + zinc instead of dunny paper...

Don't give away that pristine S2 that Dad left you in his will.

Its emerging now that similar in the UK, there was a lot of hospital - transmitted infections and the burgeoning numbers were not solely due to people testing positive/becoming ill and being subsequently admitted. - Lots were already IN hospital for other reasons.... then they were infected.

Scott Morrison's letter of Assurance re 'compulsary vaccination'

Letter from PM Scomo to a citizen:

I was going to cut and paste his reply, , but not sure of the ethics so I'll give the link instead. This letter is offered by a Comment contributor, near the end of the list of Readers Comments making it easier to find. About a page in size.

Actually, there's a few Aussie contributors including a sad description of "Life" in locked down Melbourne.

    A Sars-Cov2 vaccine – don’t hold your breath | Dr. Malcolm Kendrick

As usual, there's a wealth of useful information from the readers, (more than one Doctor in the group) and links worth chasing up. As I've said before, it's valuable to see what the rest of the world is now doing about Wuhan, with their benefit of more experience & time.
