●"If I get vaccinated can I stop wearing a mask(s)?"
No. But probable that it will speed up this outcome
●"If I get vaccinated will the restaurants, bars, schools, fitness clubs, hair salons, etc. reopen and will people be able to get back to work like normal?
Not guaranteed, but pretty much guaranteed not to happen if you and everyone else fails to vaccinate
●"If I get vaccinated will I be resistant to Covid?"
Probably - depending on vaccine 70-90%
●"If I get vaccinated, at least I won't be contagious to others - right?"
Not known for certain - vaccines have not been in widespread use for long enough to be sure, but early data suggests that you are far less likely to spread it.
●"If I get vaccinated, how long will the vaccine last?"
Not known - vaccines have only existed for less than a year, but informed opinion suggests at least a couple of years.
● "If I get vaccinated, can I stop social distancing?"
Well, you can, but you are not going to be very popular, because you were not going to wear a sign to proclaim it were you? And even if you did, who would believe it to be genuine. But social distancing will be relaxed as the population becomes largely vaccinated.
● "If my parents, grandparents and myself all get vaccinated can we hug each other again?"
If you want to - and you feel it is safe.
● "So what's the benefit of getting vaccinated?"
On an individual basis it will increase your life expectancy, but the major result will be to increase life expectancy of the society as a whole. The only people arguing against vaccination are you young blokes who did not spend your younger days worried about polio, TB, whooping cough, diphtheria, measles, mumps, etc, and went to school with kids who had their legs in braces, or had lost friends and relatives to these diseases that have been virtually eliminated in this country by vaccination.
●"Are you sure the vaccine won't injure or kill me?"
No, but it is much more likely that the virus will kill you if you don't.
●"If statistically the virus won't kill me (99.7% survival rate), why should I get vaccinated?"
Government: "To protect others."
Australia has had about 27,000 cases and 909 deaths. About 26,000 cases have recovered. That does not suggest 99.7% survival rate, so where did you get that number? The Australian survival rate is about 97%, the same as the worldwide figure. And this does not take into account either the social and monetary cost of treatment nor the significant proportion of those recovered who have long term consequences. This disease is not "no worse than flu", but has something like ten times the death rate and a higher rate of long term effects.
●"So if I get vaccinated, I can protect 100% of people I come in contact with?"
Government: "NO"
Of course not - but nothing you do in life has 100% certain outcomes. But the outcome of protecting 100% of people from this disease is a very probable outcome once the proportion of those vaccinated approaches 80-90%
● "If I experience a severe adverse reaction, long term effects (still unknown) or die from the vaccine will I (or my family) be compensated from the vaccine manufacture or the Government?"
Government: "NO - the government and vaccine manufactures have 100% zero liability regarding this experimental drug"
This vaccine is not experimental - Australian approval, unlike other countries, was delayed to allow normal approval. With the vaccine already administered to close to 200 million worldwide, but adverse reactions appear to be low compared to many other approved treatments you routinely use.
So to summarize, the Covid19 "vaccine"...
Does not provide immunity
GARBAGE
Does not eliminate the virus
No, but is a big step in that process
Does not prevent death
But reduces the probability
Does not guarantee you won’t get it
But neither does not getting vaccinated
Does not stop you from passing it on to others
No, but greatly reduces the probability
Does not eliminate the need for travel bans
But it will when widely used
Does not eliminate the need for business closures
But it will when widely used
Does not eliminate the need for lockdowns
But it will when widely used
Does not eliminate the need for masking
But it will when widely used
