Brisbane goes into lockdown for 72 hours from 5 pm today, 10 new cases found, 4 locally acquired.

Greater Brisbane will go into a three-day lockdown after recording 10 new cases of coronavirus (msn.com)

Hope you all have a secret stash of dunny roll handy up there - the supermarkets will be cleaned out today of everything - because as you know 3 days is such a long time to have to not go anywhere, even though you're allowed to go to the supermarket still...

Human nature never ceases to boggle my mind.

    Nor mine.
It is probably the same amount of time that people are normally home anyway without going out, especially if they are Billy no mates, but would prefer to decide for themselves & not to be instructed to stay in.. Tough!

Glad to see they have put this in place very quickly & that the guffaws one heard when SA did this were a lesson in handling this. Different circumstances I realise, but the quicker & inconvenient response may really be the way to handle this as opposed to faffing around the edges until it is too late.

Three days is a fair old time to go without a crap so the dunny paper could be handy at a pinch.

The PNG outbreak is gonna be the one to watch in Queensland. Carefully.

This is going to test our resolve, for sure. We've done it before early in the piece, and it worked. 8-11 January. Qld Health has been watching the PNG outbreak for a while now, and raised the alarm when 500 or so tests from PNG were carried out in Townsville, and almost half were positive. Alarm bells started ringing then, and there are health teams in PNG assisting ATM. We have to remain calm, and do the right things, and we'll get thru OK, just like before. By Harry , I'll be glad when this is over.

I'm with you shipmate, but some weeks it seems like it will never, never be over ( Bee goes off to smack his hand out of view of post watchers) I wouldn't rely on that Harry geezer either it seems he's easily led by his Missus..

How perceptive doesn't seem like people learn, but we usually see panic buying before the shops shut for Good Friday anyway.

Didn't take a rocket scientist to know it would happen - exactly the same thing happened here with our 5 day lockdown - people are dumb ****s - no matter where they live...
