We've already seen what could go wrong bob. The bloke didn't have the correct size spanner. Probably didn't even have a Tool Box either.

It was the massive cloud of Oxy that concerned me.

Here is the German news on the tragedy in India, they normally get it right. [ Germans, very efficient] It appears that people are stealing oxygen in order to help relatives in hospital. This sounds almost like a situation out of control. There is Police protection for Oxygen tankers , what next.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Don't blame you, all it needed was an ignition source, may not actually explode, but any fire would be a beauty.

    It's the stuff of nightmares. Fron DW;

"Lack of hospital beds and oxygen

People in many places are putting out desperate calls for help on Twitter, asking for assistance getting their families into hospitals.
Delhi, the capital city which has seen a surge in cases, began a six-day lockdown late on Monday that officials hope will slow the virus transmission and relieve the pressure on the health infrastructure.
Delhi's chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, said his government is facing an uphill battle in providing facilities and oxygen to those in need.
"If 25,000 patients come every day, then the system will crumble. There is a shortage of beds. Oxygen has become an emergency in Delhi," Kejriwal said, while announcing a lockdown set to last until April 26.
The chief minister has asked authorities to ensure an uninterrupted supply of about 700 metric tons of oxygen to hospitals and treatment centers on a daily basis.
The state health department has now appointed special officers to monitor its overall procurement process and ensure that oxygen is being supplied to various hospitals and nursing homes.

    Infrastructure and personnel under pressure

According to Fitch Solutions, a data research agency, with just over an average of eight hospital beds and eight physicians per 10,000 people, India's healthcare sector is not well-equipped for such a crisis.
"The significant inefficiency, dysfunction and acute shortage of healthcare delivery systems in the public sector do not meet the growing needs of the population," the agency said.
It also pointed out that the health infrastructure of states like Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Karnataka have already been overwhelmed by the health emergency.
Furthermore, the exponential rise in infections means diagnostics firms testing for coronavirus are nearing breaking point in many cities."

What I mean is, are they infectious on surfaces for longer than thought, or more infectious through the air than we thought? I'm sure our health people are right on top of this, if only we could get everyone vaccinated quicker.
    It’s does. The bit I’m not liking…

The vax doesn’t stop you getting the virus
It doesn’t stop you transmitting the virus
I just gives you less likelihood of suffering enough issues not conducive to life.

Given the low mortality rate, are we all then likely to walk around with the virus, passing it around anyway?

Having family and friends who have had the virus including those who were vaxed- it seems to be of questionable effectiveness.

I hope I’m off the mark

    Spot on.

Watching all the talking heads on TV you'd think that once we are vaccinated we will be immune to the disease. One particular head this morning was looking forward to unrestricted travel again once vaccinated as she'll be immune.

But.....what about those who, due to existing medical conditions, cannot have the vaccine.......or......those who for personal reasons do not avail themselves of the vaccine? Will they be expendable once mass vaccinations are completed?

The Vax makes it much less likely you’ll transmit the virus to others, as this is proportional to your viral load which is of course much much lower, since your body deals with the little buggers quickly before they multiply.

    vaccine does not prevent infection
vaccine helps to immune system recognise virus allowing lesser symptoms.

depending on if the virus is zoonotic or not and has a reservoir outside of humans, a vaccine may allow eradication.

Given the potential for 'doom and gloom' post vaccination effects they're not exactly convincing arguments so I'd suggest Tombies'and my post stand.

I recall when the various countries stopped using Astrazeneca due to blood clots developing post vaccination. In the immediate days after these announcements some of our Chief Health Officers responded but not as expected. They went on the public record saying that this was wrong and that the Astrazeneca vaccine actually reduced blood clots.

We are well and truly walking up that ubiquitous garden path.
