They should be fine. We're going up on Monday. Nil cases in Qld today.
I went to Sydney on Tuesday, back yesterday - when I arrived at friend's place in Sydney, greeted with the news about a number of exposure places in Dubbo (none of which I went to) - and they are scheduled to go to the Sunshine Coast next week!

Yes, I should have just said quarantine as it seems to vary.
I may depend on if they were at an exposure site at the same time as positive people, or were at the site at a different time.

Just read the Qld covid info site, the only check points are at airports. Police are doing random car checks [ ie any one with a Vic licence plate is being pulled over.] So far 3,343 cars have been checked, fines of over $4,000 have been issued, and the checking is on going. ABC News;
EDIT. QLD Health Minister Said " Either someone will be picking up the phone and telling us, or the Police will be doing intercepts and find you."

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

This is how you qualify for an exemption to leave a COVID hot spot. You can not enter Qld from a hotspot without an exemption, or if you are a returning Qlder. Travel exemptions are possible, but only for specific reasons , and may still require quarantine.

As far as I am concerned if it can be proven that these people have done the wrong thing they should be held responsible for all costs to business deep cleaning & lost sales / public that have to go into quarantine Accom & lost wages due to there stupidity . Then they may think twice about doing the wrong thing. Just giving them a $4000 fine isn't working , whack them with a hefty bill then they may think twice. Unfortunately the Qld Gov is just as much to blame they should have had people protecting all the border crossings.
That is just my tilt on this , I know others will disagree.
We apparently live in a democracy so your comments/tilt are fair imho. So people will disagree, so what?
Assuming they knowingly broke the law then yes why not?
If they had been given a genuine bum steer by an Official that is a different matter & has to be taken into account in their defence but which official will put their hand up?
Seems to me quite a few folk have taken the **** over borders & are probably laughing all the way to the bank knowing there is a good chance they will not be prosecuted so some penalties must be applied. It also seems to me that if all involved Police Services were reimbursed as they are entitled to be if the cash went back to the States for providing these services, then their annual budget allocation should look pretty damn good. Why should everybody else be required to chip in because some people act like idjits at this time.
The old "Hit 'em in the Hip pocket" makes sense to me.
