I've been to Sydney a couple of times this year for work and my impression is that people there don't take covid seriously, probably because they haven't had a serious outbreak. In their minds, Covid is something that happens elsewhere, like in Melbourne. I remember getting into a small lift to go to a rooftop bar and myself and a colleague from Melbourne hung back to get another one and the local clients and colleagues were laughing at us for not wanting to be in a lift with more than two other people. True, but that's still the rule in my building in Melbourne, even when there isn't an outbreak or lockdown.

Current article in The Economist explains the mutations and suggests that there are only limited options for the virus that work - so there will apparently be some limit to the possible mutations.

I signed no paperwork for either of my two jabs... I did have a quick Q&A before each covering any allergies and if I was pregnant tho

Australian Lawyers are not as proactive as their U$ counterparts, so it may be a while before we have any interesting cases.
If you have heard that tight proof of causality needs to be established for compensation to be paid, then you have heard wrong.

You seem to be unaware of the purpose of VAERS and don't seem to have read or understood the disclaimers on the VAERS website.

These articles, and numerous others, explain in detail why what you have said about the significance of VAERS data and compensation is just plain wrong.

I understand that if you’ve made and appointment for vaccination, turned up for that vaccination, completed a questionnaire for that vaccination, sat down and rolled up your sleeve for the vaccination, then that could reasonably be construed in a court that you’ve consented to receiving the vaccination despite not actually signing anything.

Totally agree, I rolled up my sleeve and consented to getting stuck in the arm.

These are the two questionnares for the Qld jab. I think the first is the one for the jab, the second for the discussion with a GP. I will stand corrected.

Headlined as the pre-vaccination screening questions; You will note with this one there is a box to be ticked, " proceed with vaccination yes/no."

Just had my second jab. Waited the mandatory 15 minutes & walked home, such a beautiful day. [ Well, it is QLD] By tomorrow the record of full vaccination should be in MyGov, medicare section [ or perhaps in Vet Affairs for me] So, the wife & I will be safe to fly to Townsville in a few weeks to watch Manly play the Cowboys. [ If the NRL is still going after the ST George fiasco] Wife will take a week off work, we will do the tourist thing, all things going well. LG.

Bob, if you had AZ I trust they told you Maximum Protection is at 3 weeks & not before? Well, that is what we were advised but I am sure you of all people would be aware of this.

I say "of all people" because you do seem to be on top of what is going on, but just a reminder.

For Fizzer I have no idea.
