Food for thought for those who see shutting borders as the cure for all ills.

Make sure all workers travelling outside the hot zones, are tested. Just on the news Gladys has said that all workers working from the hot zones must be tested 3 times a week. After the event at Goulburn. Surely that should have been a rule from the start. Would have to be a no- brainer, surely? Close the border means no one crosses, a lock down is a lockdown, try to take short cuts , we can see what happens , It's unfolding in NSW in front of us. Goulburn is on the highway. How many other workers travel to and from that worksite.? Sorry if I sound a little bit angry but another person has died from the virus in Sydney. That'll do me.

    89 in NSW today.

Dr Norman Swan today said the lockdown is not tough enough to turn the outbreak around any time soon, and predicted the outbreak could last until Christmas.
Said Sydney should copy Melbourne's tougher lockdown, define essential work, and limit movement to 5kms.
Hopes he's wrong but is pessimistic.

How much freight currently crosses the VIC and Qld Borders? Imagine stopping every truck, testing the driver and waiting for a result. Challenging times indeed.

Everyone crossing the border gets tested every 3 days. Any one loading or unloading trucks wears PPE at designated depots, or delivery hubs. From there the local work force, suitably tested and using the correct covid protocols, distributes the freight. Too hard,? stay at home.

The latest from Gladys. The Goulburn Mayor said the infected worker was a painter, says he doesn't know why he had to come out of the hotspot, plenty of painters in Goulburn, he said. Good Point.
