    The removalists, again

The removalists aren't being cooperative with the contact tracers - what would they be hiding?? - so the authorities have been checking CCTV.

I'm guessing that it was via CCTV that the Kalkallo site was picked up, and they probably also stopped several times between Ballan and Bordertown so I'm expecting a contact site in Horsham - but it's almost a week old now which is a real concern.

So, now they've discovered that these guys had two trucks, not one and they went to a couple of spots in SA, including Tailem Bend on their way back to NSW - that means that they came back through Victoria, which I'm not sure that the Victorians are aware of.

Oh, and to date the removalists have managed to infect at least 6 people.

And the family from NSW - one of whom went shopping when they were supposed to be in isolation - have managed to infect at least one person at a supermarket.

There's now talk of a short lockdown to try and put out the embers, as Jeroen put it. Good thing I stocked up on toilet paper.

There will be a lockdown to deal with the flames from one of them going to the MCG.

    Not embers yet.

Well, I was at the Rugby last night* and was sitting shoulder to shoulder with unmasked strangers so if there was even one person in that area with Delta then there'd be a lot of spread.

Interestingly you had a QR code for the ground as well as the section you were in. But as my daughter said, at the A League final, which she also attended, they had a spare seat between each group.

(*Honestly, the Wallabies really are crap these days.)

(FYI, I'm a Vic born and bred Union player.)

Two children on life support as Mississippi sees surge in delta variant cases

Don't forget that "survived" just means they didn't die. It tells you nothing about possible serious long term health issues.
Those UK kids also included ashmatic(s) and one CF.... didn't die as we'd expect.

Great Unknown - and probably will remain so - is the deceased / Very sick number & type of co-morbidities. IF American, then chances are their Insulin Resistance will be....'Remarkable' rather than 'Unremarkable'.

Then, there is the question of 'early treatment'. What, if anything was given them ? How effective is it ?
Interesting how some GPs are claiming that use of a couple of "Early Treatments" will control viral replication and thus keep the pt from entering or needing O2 in hospital.

So Victoria is now up to 11 cases today. I bet Gladys is really popular down there.

    That's obvious.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

How about the news that limousine man claims he caught covid from a Bondi cafe, not working. And that Covid was circulating in Bondi , before the reported outbreak ? As for borders, the best border control in Australia doesn't work when NSW superspreaders lie on their paperwork. How about the fact NSW health had to resort to CCTV camera evidence to find out exactly where they fueled up & stopped in NSW, because the removalists were not forthcoming in their trip details ?

EDIT Do you really think sarcasm is warranted just right now?

Why would sarcasm not be warranted - its better and more entertaining to see the light side than listen to incessant whinging on every subject from the "racist" nature of the lockdown to the fact that when more restrictions are introduced for workers in red zones it causes queues at testing sites to the fixation on locking borders which clearly does not work as well as those who tout them believe. Mostly raised I might add by people with no skin in the game.......

    Sarcasm /on

How else would you suggest that the information is extracted from the removalists - torture? Besides NSW removalists are actually inherently evil with a mission to subvert the state governments of NSW and QLD by bringing the covid Perhaps at the moment there is a top secret team of removalists travelling across the Nullabor to continue their evil spreading ways in an isolated unvaccinated tinderbox.
I wonder how many people have moved from NSW to Queensland in the last couple of weeks, after all moving house is an activity exempt from the restrictions. Best Qld check on all those footballers heading their way as well.

    Sarcasm /off

Unfortunately we aren’t 100% sure what mRNA could do to humans long term either.

What if, say, this has an impact on future generations ability to reproduce etc?

The science says it’s ok, although it also said Thalidomide was a good thing.
