I have literally no idea what this comment is in regard too, I just see my name (James) and xxxx mentioned and can't help myself from commenting....xxxx is one of the worst things I have ever tried to drink, it is literally the only thing I have ever bought on tap at the pub and couldn't finish.

I believe some people think it is beer, this is patently false, it is not for human consumption.

Not sure how Sydney’s lockdown works and it sounds very different to Vic as unless your business is deemed essential them you can’t go to work regardless and if essential then you could still travel to it if you couldn’t work from home.

Sound like your rules are quite different unfortunately.

Covid is now a crisis for the unvaccinated. There are 4 other endemic coronaviruses in circulation. They all cause colds. Vaccination relegates SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid 19, to that group. From the New York Times.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Thanks to a COVID+ person visiting our local IGA on the 21st I became a casual contact and had to get tested yesterday along with the rest of my family. Test was done at about 12:00PM with the results coming through via text at 8:30AM this morning for all 4 of us. So about 20.5 hrs test to result.

It took a week for the site to be identified as a hotspot which, I think comes down to how long it takes for an individual to decide to get tested or they are forced to get a test because of another contact with contact tracing to follow. This is where the real issue lies with this strain. In that time it will easily have passed onto others.

The bulk of our community headed off for the test yesterday and so far I haven't heard of any issues but we'll have to wait and see...We'll need another test in 5 days.

Disappointingly, some (nice) people I know in our town are anti the vaccine and go so far as to say the virus is a hoax. I have heard rumours that they attended the rally last Saturday but I'm yet to confirm that for myself. I'm battling with myself on how to deal with it. Like I said, nice people but misguided.
My daughter was tested on Wednesday at 1630 negative result came through this morning at 0120 so just under 33hours to get a result. This was from a private lab that I heard was a bit slow, not the one that has been publicised though.

The doc was, unusually, running a Flu jab clinic normally done by a nurse. I rock up and straight away I'm told to stand on scales, get height measured and blood pressure taken etc. I asked why and he replied you have to. Conversation went on with me repeatably saying I don't have to and him saying yes you do. Eventually he conceded I was right but he wanted to do a health check. I'd had one two weeks ago as mentioned on his laptop screen in front of him.

A pharmacy charges $14 and no check up mentioned.

So I reckon a quick check-up qualifies for charging Medicare a consult fee plus a jab fee.......Hmmmmm..... a patient every 10 minutes...nice little earner.

Sometimes we need to be reminded of the simplistic truth by adopting the KISS principle.
