Walgett is going into lockdown from 7pm because of a Covid case there.
Aren't many people in NSW now who are not in lockdown.

Just downloaded my vax certificate through mygov/Medicare to have on my phone. Expect to have to show it regularly in future.

So I'm hearing around here, Someone was put into Bathurst Jail who had covid under covid safe conditions. He was released after 2 days when he travelled to Dubbo and then later on to Walgett.
    Cheers

It's human nature to look around & think " they didn't do this to the Northern beaches, or Bondi ", and what appears to be the almost complete lack of consultation or clear explanation only acerbates the situation. When people are bought along for the ride, have a clear feeling of belonging , and are not marginalised , only then can you have the outcome the NSW government desires. Treat people differently to the mainstream, have little or no consultation [ with community leaders] , no clear explanation of what is required , you get the outcome the NSW government has. Just my thoughts.

And even more so if your skin colour is not white.

    Good idea. Difficult to do?

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

How far can you push people before they push back?

Don't take my word for the feeling in Western Sydney, read about it from a man who lives there.

" I won't defend people who are breaking the rules, but the paternalistic and militarised approach authorities have taken in the region is taxing".

" Many people in these communities have traumatic relationships with a military presence, yet police patrol the streets on horseback and the military doorknocks suburban homes."

" It's hard to deny the racialised element to this approach, when people ask me: where was the military when the outbreak was in the East"

What happens if they reach breaking point? The Police are being given more power to arrest, more military are on the way.

For me it's not such a drama as my work takes me out of the house most days for legitimate reasons. My Partner is getting a little sick of it though as she can't.

I haven't been in the office for more than 4 days consecutively since March last year. In fact I moved to a new building with one employer and then moved to a new employer without leaving my study at home.
