Good question . Various studies by numerous boffins has declared that 70%-80% vaccinated may not be enough to have herd immunity [ for want of a better word] from delta, or other variants like Lamda [which is still under investigation]. 90% to 95 % is the new figure being bandied about. The awful truth may be COVID will be the new flu, where thousands will die each year , as happens with the flu. No one is talking about that much, understandably.
The US has declared all vaccinated people will need a booster to keep up protection, and Moderna has stated it will attempt to develop a combined COVID / flu vaccine , which looks like the way of the future . The poorer countries in the World can not afford the massive vaccination programs necessary to keep COVID under control, and I don't know if any one knows what the future will really look like. It's certainly way above my pay grade, I just hope there is some one out there that actually knows what they are doing. Not looking good ATM

Fast forward to December 2022.
Scene: Queue to enter the Boxing Day test at the MCG.
A security guard stands about 20m from the entrance yelling through a megaphone. "HAVE YOUR VACCINE PASSPORT READY FOR INSPECTION!" (Papers Please!).
Just near the security guard a small withered looking old man motions to the guard and says, "I don't have a passport, I can't take any vaccines".
Security guard talks into his radio. "Code Red at Gate 12, I say again. Code Red at Gate 12!"
Sirens are then heard approaching the area and a van screeches to a halt near the crowd and 3 large men in bio hazard suits exit the van, grab the small withered looking old man and bundle him into the van before screaming off in to the distance sirens wailing.
Is this what we will become??

I would imagine that that unfortunately cannot be vaccinated because of a medical condtion will get a "Leave Pass" the same as people that cannot wear a mask because of medical reasons at the moment.
These people don't have a choice and that is understandable and fair that they are not inconvenianced because of a medical issue.
For people that CHOOSE not to be vaccinated as a personal choice NOT a medical one then "Tough Titties" is a Fair outcome for them

Nope. Will be like Germany. Easy. Home test kits. There you want to go grocery shopping and its either a negative test from that day or vac passport. Don't need both. Either will do. If you have medical issues you can remain vac free and still participate normally.
Cheers
So what everyone seems to be proposing here is a multi level society. Let's say 3 levels.
The first level, which currently exists, contains the ultra-wealthy and politicians. Those the that don't give a **** about anyone and have total disregard for rules and laws.
The rest of the population will be split between the vaxed, with a number of privileges and freedoms, and the unvaxed who will only be able collect garbage and stay at home.
Maybe we could add more levels like the caste system in India. You know, those that have been fully vaccinated, those that have had boosters, those that have been partially vaccinated and of course those that can't be vaxed or refuse. Each level would have varying degrees of freedom from none to knock your socks off.
What has happened to humanity?

The evidence for vaccines not only preventing severe illness, but also reducing the transmission of Covid19 is looking good, though it’s too early to say re Delta as it’s approx 1000 times for infectious than the original Covid virus.
But because the signs look good for vaccinations limiting transmission as well as preventing severe illness, the case for vaccination passports is very strong.
Excellent article:
COVID vaccines slash viral spread – but Delta is an unknown
With sympathy, unfortunately those who are unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons will need to be very careful not to contract the virus, which would prevent them from participating in many aspects of life anyway. …Until there is true herd immunity, which looks a long way off until approx 90% are fully vaccinated, unfortunately those who are unvaccinated will continue live restricted lives.
While vaccination is not a silver bullet, it sure is close and we are all very fortunate that vaccines are available at all. In plagues previous vaccines were only imagined.
