97 cents down the road from me
Wholesale price of fuel in $aud is at or under $1.02. The prices above $1.50 are the biggest price gouge in History here. One interesting note is forecast big dump of crude oil for April fools day should see prices sub$1 retail. Sale prices here still from $1.60 to $1.
ACCC is asleep or softly softly which is not unusual![]()

Under a buck in Braybrook today. Ballarat road for those that want to jump on.
This afternoon I paid $116.9 for 91 Unleaded in Canberra and saw $149.9 for the same fuel in Batemans Bay.

Apparently the ACCC cant do nothing about how the caltex/shell/united charge there customers for fuel.
All they can do is shame them.
Which is why Taswegians are still paying over the top for there fuel.![]()

I think you’ll find the ACCC always do nothing.
Just another government funded body set up with the express purpose to deflect blame for something the Government doesn’t want to involve themselves with. This is the sole reason d’être for all, so called, independent government funded bodies. The quicker Australians wake up to this, the better.

Fuel price & it's fluctuations, to some extent, depends on where you live & how much fuel is sold.
Take us for example:
To make the freight on fuel economical I usually order a minimum of 25000lt of both diesel & unleaded at a time.
On average I sell about 1500lt of each per day. I also have several thousand Lt still in the ground when fuel is delivered.
So, usually, I only order fuel monthly.
Before the "wet" we have 65000lt of each & we sell less fuel due to road closures.
So, at best the fuel price in Doomadgee is only going to go up or down once a month or 3 weeks in tourist season.
Also, if the fuel in the ground was priced differently to the new delivery (usual) I have to calculate a cost price per litre based on new fuel price & old fuel price divided by fuel remaining so the fuel price will not drop or increase as much as people think it should.
We are not charities, ultimately if we don't make money we don't stay in business.
Also, we have unwritten price limits. IE There is a certain retail we avoid going above. So we may & do sell fuel at times for a loss, when prices drop we will try to make some of the loss back.
It sound easy, the spot oil price goes down = fuel price should also go down, YES? It's a little more complicated than that.

Best price unleaded I've seen (Friday afternoon) was $1.06 at a self-service / credit-card outlet.
- You know, insert card, authorise pump and $ limit, fill...re-insert card for refund if applicable. Bit of a pain, but at 10 cents cheaper than the best elsewhere.
On Tuesday their price was $1.09, still 11 cents cheapest. Yes, some surrounding outlets were up over $1.40.
Just paid 99.9cents per litre for ULP at the Shell in Bellevue
I believe all the Shell servos in the Perth metro are the same

Price gouging continues on unabated and the ACCC are nowhere to be seen as usual.
