    The dump here had a buried 44 with the bung open & just above ground level. When it was full they hauled it out with one of their Earthmovers & took it away & replaced it with a replacement drum.

    When I first used the dump yonks ago, I was puzzled watching folk tip the old motor oil into the ground. Deeeeeeeeerrrrrrr That can't be right.

    We're lucky that we have access to a tip near the farm for free but it won't last forever as pressure mounts to centralise all the landfills, which means that it costs the council to cart the rubbish from the depot to the landfill.. Yass tip charge about $10 per load although they are pretty casual most of the time about how big the load is.

    BTW. Dump Fee stirs up all sorts of thoughts, one being the council charging you a fee to have a Dump?

    I was involved in a project around BioChar, BioOil etc and one of the primary feed sources was domestic waste.
    When we ran the economics on it it worked out quite well.

    Sydney councils for example pay some ridiculous cost ~$130 per tonne from memory to dispose of domestic waste.

    We could collect and process the waste into reuseable product - oil for fuel and char for furnaces AND make a profit from removing the waste alone.
