Business as usual, albeit, far from normal. 2x hospitals to fortify and prepare for the expected surge and then keep the buildings services going. Already having existing contractors pulling out and not wanting to work on site.

Is an interesting question as to who or what is essential or not:

Here my garage is essential is you work in repairing cars not if you are in sales

If you work in a hardware store this is also an essential occupation

Stores selling clothing and household goods are not essential

In Holland clothing is essential while in Belgium it is not

Officially working from home now, but that means there’s parts of my job I can’t do, so not sure how long it will be before work decides I need to take a break. Hopefully I can do 3 or 4 days a week or something like that but not hugely concerned if I get told to come back in a couple of months, I can go that long at least and have plenty to do at home.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

A couple of years ago, the Good Woman decided to forgo her managerial, medical role with Qld Health and take on a more client (patient) involved, part time role with QHealth.

Last week, she was approached by the organisation and asked to consider going back up a few rungs of the ladder.

As she is frequently in contact with people, especially the elderly and even though she is fastidious about cleanliness, I'm seriously thinking about living in the pop top, down in the bottom shed, for a while. The shed's about 80 metres from the house with more than enough power points for my 'puter and several chilling appliances.

We are a business of 22 staff doing building automation. Most staff are working from home, two admin ladies in the office by themselves and separated, our 5 techs are on the road. Is this business essential? To some customers (medical sites) yes, to others (commercial) maybe not. We consider it essential because if we don't keep working the business will be no more and we will be out of work!

My job is one of the most essential, I am a truck driver!

Why is that so essential I hear you ask?

I deliver malt barley from home to a malt house in Geelong.

They make malt out of it for beer production

I'd say that is one of the most essential jobs in the country ...... right?

Anyway I will still be employed for a while, just over 3000 tonne left to move at 30 tonne a load.
