Gosh haven't heard the world slide rule in a long timedad has one! Fair sure he only used it for his aircraft/pilot things

I have several slide rules (somewhere, I think), including my father's Faber-Castell. But as a toolmaker in an aircraft engine factory, he tended to use seven figure log tables rather than his slide rule.
Similarly, pre-calculators, I tended to use four figure log tables rather than my slide rule, except for aerial navigation, which was circular slide rule all the way.

Good to see you are back 4Bee, I was afraid Ian had offended you💔
As if? I have never found Ian offensive, quite the contrary . Firm, fair, good sense of humour & quite amicable but never offensive.
I realise you were taking the **** Dave, but fairs fair, the guy comes over as being a proper gent. Not quite a Saint but he'll do.
Haven't been away Dave. You must be thinking of Santa Claus, he's back?![]()
Ha, didn't notice that! I cannot find mine just now, but I am sure that it was not made in Korea just going on how old it is.
Like everything thing else, these things have pretty much gone by the board now, being replace by electronic versions. For me it was only of any use for flight planning on the ground, as flying the type of helicopters that I flew all hands and both feet were needed on the controls!
