Just heard from where my car is, they are great there. Trans hose has come off/broken. So he's ordered what needs and service kit. I'm worried as to why it would blow a hose after being rebuilt only 16000km or so ago!

No knowledge of what is involved but it is possible it was a manky hose end that could have been damaged during it's life or previous repairs which can always be a bit sus after any sort of hose involved repair work & 16,000 of operation. Can happen with any hose application. A shonky hose clamp for instance???

Disturb it once & bingo! Why it came good & then failed again is anybody's guess I suppose unless there was a floating block there.

What did Michael think the cause was?

Those factory hoses have a terrible swage fitting and it fails at random periods.

I removed mine, fitted AN fittings and made new hoses.

He didn't say, don't think anyone will ever know, hopefully just a random thing.

Was that easy to do Tombie? Will look into changing mine if so. Not sure whose idea the way they are from factory was The COVID-19 & Corona free thread.

On the subject of Jeeps, did anyone else notice this:-

"It's time for Jeep to reconsider calling its SUVs "the Cherokee" and "Grand Cherokee," says Cherokee Nation Chief Chuck Hoskin, Jr. This marks the first time the Cherokee Nation has directly asked Jeep to stop using its name for vehicles, something the brand has done for the past 45 years."

    Hi,
Wasn't the Pontiac car a similar hoist of a First Nations' identity and had a profile image as its logo?
I am not all that PC, but think it is now time to sift some of these naming practices from being misused.
    Cheers

In the Refrigeration world TECUMSEH is/was. Like Pontiac, it goes back a Zillion Years & had a similar logo to Pontiac, of an Indian Chief's Head.

Didn't they merge with, or get taken over by Kirby?
