I remember. Maybe AHA left a wire off or damaged a cable, anyway have it looked at ASAP.

A maxtrax was placed under the left rear wheel, and then whilst it spun on it, i climbed out. It behaved different to how i remember, and then occured to me that the light hasnt come on so maybe it was not engaged right. I am going to try that you tube method of testing! then go from there

With standard open diffs, drive will always go to the wheel with the least traction until the traction control adds more resistance to the spinning wheel (by applying the brake to that wheel).

If you always had one front and one rear wheel turning at all times then there is very good chance the CDL is all good and it is just an issue with the light. 🤞

Your LR will turn you into a mechanic - they always have and always will do.

Can confirm cdl is indeed working! So looks like just the light! Unless it was stiff from lack of use and didn't engage properly on weekend and its freed up now. I did the 1 wheel off ground check!

Quite common, Leonnie. A bit of use can free it up. Better to get under it and give it a lube. When I changed the auto in mine I used the TC off the donor car. Mistake, as I don't think it had used the CDL or high/low system at all, where I had in mine. However, I was able to coerce mine into working with a little lube and some brute force. Pretty sure your number plate will get you through.

    Good stuff.

You do want to sort the light or switch out, but now you can also get back to testing the difference in capability with or without CDL with some cross axle challenges. The COVID-19 & Corona free thread.
