Porsche driver Richard Pusey recorded complaining about his damaged car to dying police officer, court hear

"All I wanted to do was go home and eat my sushi, you've f***ed my f***ing car," Leading Senior Constable Taylor's body camera is alleged to have recorded Mr Pusey saying to her, before fleeing the scene.
She was pinned under the truck at the time.

Two of my brothers are serving members of Vicpol , this makes my blood boil, I really hope summary justice is served because our court system is seriously flawed, he wont get what he truly deserves. What a ****ing low life maggot !

    Very sad.
This incident is a reason we have Go Slow laws around emergency vehicles....

That said, with 4 officers on the scene, one should have been nominated as "spotter" to face traffic and look for these type of incidents developing. It would be best practice if the four had high vis vests and orange lights on their vehicles. That and defining an escape route as the first thing done when they stopped.

All of the above said with full respect to those deceased.

i am sure many do not realise being on the side of the road, for whatever reason, is one of the most dangerous places to be,no matter what speed the traffic is moving at.

I always taught my boys not to stop on the side of the road, unless they can get well off it.Dont worry about wrecking a rim,or what ever, just keep going. If they do stop, get everyone out of the vehicle carefully, off the side of the road,as far as practical.

But then again, they don't always listen to me

As others have said, many roads don't have anywhere to pull off, including most of the motorways, i suppose this is to reduce costs when they are built.

A Shocking tragedy, which should never have happened.Hopefully something comes out of it to make it safer for Police and Emergency services working on our roads.

    People.

Both the drivers are due a legal defense.

I don't like the leaking of information like items found, someone's criminal record or body cam revelations.

Let good people do their work. Leave the families alone.

Lets grieve now for a terrible loss of life.

But without forming an angry mob with flaming torches and pitchforks.

When, and only when, the courts make a final decision and reveal all, then, we can form a personal opinion. I will be in the mob I assure you.

i think the speed makes a big difference.
25 vs 40 vs 100 all have different outcomes.

i dont think any amount of extra laws is going to help in this situation. the truck driver had a seizure, and was incapable of slowing to 40.

Perhaps, just perhaps, in any other country this Porsche driver wouldn't be out and about, let alone driving!

Sure speed makes a difference, but many have been killed at roadworks,at very low speed.

As someone said,a spotter might be a good help, but only guessing.Road police often work in pairs. There were actually four present in this situation.

im not sure about vic, but in my local area (and we;re on the freeway) and for the CFS jobs I attend, its a single police officer about 90% of the time.
