I received this message from POST about a delivery I'm waiting for. I thought they were hiring more people?

We’ve just received the shipping information for your delivery, which means the sender is preparing your item.

We’ll confirm when your delivery is on its way – usually within 3 business days – and let you know when to expect it.
    Delays due to reduced capacity

Due to increased parcel volumes and temporary staff reductions at processing facilities we’re experiencing additional delivery delays, and Victoria is particularly impacted.

We are processing items as fast as we can, and will keep you updated as your item moves through our processing facilities.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I posted a letter to the next suburb to me . maybe 10 min's drive away a week ago , it still has not arrived. Guess it has gone to the lost world called AP.
I did think about hand delivering it but they are not always there these days so stuck in the post.

I guess that they had to save some money from somewhere to pay out the Blonde Bimbo!

They have to as they paid out far too much to the previous CEO worth $millions , yet the front line workers were trying to get a meagre pay rise.

I neither know nor care how much they pay the top people, not worth me thinking about as with most things they're not going to take any notice of what I say. But I do care that our mail keeps going astray and we get other peoples stuff as well.
The Cook complained several times to AP and in one case got the response "we've investigated and your postman has new glasses......" So each time I put stuff back in the post box I write with a texta that they should get new glasses so they have a good excuse for sloppy delivering.
We know we've had stuff disappear and put it down to a certain person nearby destroying it instead of reposting. Can't prove it of course but he (and her) are such total arseholes it's the sort of thing they'd do.
Oh for the days of long ago when you could actually rely on postie as they did the job right.

PS. One postman I knew quite well admitted he never knocked on doors if something was too big for the letter box, wrote out cards before leaving to do his rounds and stuffed them in the mail box telling the owner to collect from the PO. He wouldn't get off his bike for anything.

similar story, ordered parts from UK, sent Royal Mail with transfer to Australia post, tracked it all the way to Perth.

"awaiting clearance". Then nothing for nearly 4 weeks. so I started a search through Australia post, they confirmed the search started, then package was delivered the next day. So what happened? well seems someone had added packaging tape which almost completely obscured the address, only postcode and part of "Australia" visible. see picture.

Now I thought the address was somehow contained in the bar code, but not so, They only found it because I supplied tracking number and my address. It was sitting at main depot here for 4 weeks marked " undeliverable".
    It should have read. "Unbelievable"
I contacted the seller and they insisted that they did not add this tape, maybe customs opened it or something.

Anyway, after everything, a credit to Australia Post for looking and finding and delivering the next day.
Now, who taped up the box and hid my address is a mystery.
But seriously, all they had to do was peel off this tape as I did in a couple of seconds, then read full address.
But 'that's not my job mate', the days of thinking and caring....long gone.

I think they could improve their service by offering mail collection at home, like they do in America using the flag on the mailbox.

That's a joke , they can't even deliver it . & as for there courier service they keep trying to deliver packages to out back door & the dog bails them up , when I ask why they don't go to the front door were our house number ( which is 150mm high ) & mail box is there answer is I thought that it was two houses. Funny the gate leading to the back door dose not have a number or mail box . Must put a sign on the gate .
