I am contemplating buying a new Defender D300 in the middle of next year. I see where Mercedes have increased their new car warranty to 5 years. And Mitsubishi to 10 years with service plans.

Do you think Land Rover will follow suit in the near future and up grade their new vehicle factory warranty to 5 years ? If so, would we be able to purchase the additional 2 year extended warranty ? Peace of mind - especially on the crankshaft/bearing failures in the Discover 4 's .
