nothing to do early friday evening?

the international space station will be making a brilliant 6 minute pass over Brisbane areas.

at -3.8 magnitude it is going to be extremely bright , get out your binoculars , if it's a clear night it should be worth the effort. If you have a telephoto attachment for your mobile phone , you may get a very clear photo.

at 1951hrs it will rise 10* above the horizon in the NW and for 6 mins will track across the sky to 15* above SE

there are many more passes this month and you can see them on heavensabove.com
Won't that be a bit low in the sky, if you have any hills or trees around you might not see it?

it will appear at 10* and climb almost completely overhead then descend towards the eastern horizon in a similar manner.

Thanks for clearing that up, makes it a much better viewing proposition.
