Very, very wise. I got taken out by a bloke running a red arrow ( no, not the plane ).

difference between SA and NSW i guess. we dont have HWP here.

Am trying to remember over 30 years ago so do not have full details. Going south from Queensland in northern NSW west of the divide perhaps New England Highway there was a town with a long down hill run on the way in where you would exceed the speed limit without trying. The cop sat with a radar just out of sight at the bottom of the hill and did a roaring trade from the unwary or perhaps unknowing. Was such a regular event that and the numbers booked high enough that the locals set up a stall near him selling I was caught merchandise

Had a similar event heading north into Willow Tree a little town south of Tamworth Easter Friday 1993 (my last ticket ). A local trucking company managed to park trucks either side of the road where the speed changed from 100 to 80 hiding the speed signs. Cop would sit just past the truck and was stopping everyone.

I called it entrapment but was advised by legal people no defence in NSW so I had to pay the fine and take the points!

My foreman in the 80’s spotted a cop with a radar sitting under a tree at the bottom of a steep hill trapping speeding motorists
This was in the middle of a dry thunderstorm on the highveld in South Africa
He stopped next to the cop and asked him if he wanted to get struck by lightning and told him he was an idiot
He was arrested and appeared in front of the local magistrate the next morning
After hearing the story the magistrate agreed with him and tore a strip off the cop for being so arrogant and wasting his and my foreman’s time
He received an apology in the post 3 weeks later.

You have Safe-T-Cam and average speed cam, so it's only a matter of time.

Note: that is not a swear filter dodge.
They are also known by their colour "Black ****" apparently.

    Nor is this.

New England for sure. That hill was a real workout for the retarder in the Scania, as speeding in a B-Double is frowned upon.

Just back to the Hawkesbury HWP for a moment. I hope they are all on leave for the Land Rover Expo at the Hawkesbury show grounds at the end of July! The potential to defect a few there I’m thinking..
