When I lived in Wewak there were two seasons - hot and wet (laughingly called 'dry") and hot and very wet. In the dry season it often didn't rain before lunch and sometimes the rain after lunch actually stopped occasionally before dawn.

It does feel like spring, but a bloody cold one.
If you're in the sun it can be quite warm but the winds are freezing.
