    Good rant, Heather.

I blame the Media (yes, again) for spreading crap news/opinions about this is nearly all over Red Rover & folk are becoming carefree/careless lately. One sees them everywhere.

Reverting back to the early days attitudes of "**** you Jack, I'm alright."

Even if our GGCs have a "Cold" problem at their school we don't get to see them for months. Last time was Oct sometime.

You omitted to say that you can move through water like Campbell's Bluebird on Coniston & no Shark in the world is gonna catch up with you.

The West Australian newspaper reported he has to do two weeks quarantine
Maybe he’s in home quarantine ?
Don’t know how he got from airport to his house?
I assume people can still quarantine at home in WA?
    Assume nothing in WA

NOBODY is immune to catching COVID - even if they have already caught it once and survived, or have been vaccinated as many times as you like.

There are MANY documented examples of people having caught and survived COVID, and then caught it again. It is generally accepted that after you have caught it and survived, you are pretty safe from catching it again for about 6 months - after which all bets are off.

And if you seriously believe that vaccination makes you immune from catching the virus - you simply have no idea about what the vaccine actually does.

You might need to read back through the posts. The point I was making was that being healthy doesn't protect anyone against Covid and isn't a substitute for being vaccinated.

I don't need to read back through the posts. I was responding to a comment that you made (which I quoted) which was blatantly incorrect.

Nothing protects you against covid apart from your own immune system
The vaccine is to stimulate your immune system to give you a better defence against the virus it is designed for
If you are healthy, have no underlying conditions and have a good immune system, you shouldn’t need the vaccine as originally described by my doctor, why he doesn’t publicly (or privately in a consultation) advise this has me thinking (maybe I should bring it up in the “conspiracy theories” thread but I have a feeling my post would be removed), his stance now is very ………… scripted.

I believe I am relatively healthy, I don’t go out running daily but with my work I feel I do enough to keep fit, I can still outrun most of the apprentices and tradies half my age.
I don’t have any underlying conditions that me or my doctor are aware of, apart from general aches and pains of getting old (after having races against the younger ones to prove a point).
My immune system works well, in my line of work I come across dozens of people daily, many of them have god knows what ailment, the apprentices come into work sick, work with them all day and I don’t catch their sickness even though it takes out their whole family.
I eat well, drink even weller (is that even a word) and **** just as good.
I may get a runny nose or a cough for a day or two, but not sick enough to have a day off work
I have customers who get there flu vaccine every year and have to have a week off to get over their jab. The covid jab gives them two weeks of grief every time they have it!!

When I first seen my doctor he told me what the side effects could be, have they changed??? (I think there is more possible side effects than what they say)
I still believe I’m better off without the vaccine
If you being vaccinated, can still catch and transmit the disease, why am I letting the country down not being vaccinated.
In your mind you are protected from covid (🤣🤣&#129315, so how is it I’m a bad person for not being vaccinated.
Their are many health professionals around the world who are have the same beliefs as me (I’d attach some proof but it would cause this post to be removed).Covid Mk llCovid Mk llCovid Mk ll
Statistics can be manipulated however the person writing them sees fit and for every statistic making unvaccinated look bad, there is another making vaccines look bad.
I am not an “antivaxxer”, I, as with every other decision made in my life, take in as many views, theories, stories and as much evidence as possible and make my own decisions.
Good, bad or whatever I decide, it’s me that ultimately pays the price.

If the someone tells you that you have to jump off a cliff to save your life (and be allowed into a bottle shop)
    Would you jump??

Thing is Gav its doctors telling you to get vaxed...you know the massively high percentage of specialists in the field of immunology and infectious diseases. Your question is better this - An African big cat survival specialists who also base jumps and has packed your chute tells you to jump off a cliff to avoid a charging angry Lion (he is jumping too...the specialists are getting jabbed) do you do it...bloody oath you do.

    Cheers

If you think that "immunity" means having complete and utter protection for ever you'd better check a dictionary. It's not what it means medically or what I meant:

a condition of being able to resist a particular disease especially through preventing development of a pathogenic microorganism or by counteracting the effects of its products

So, to state the bleeding obvious - being vaccinated confers immunity, that is the ability to resist disease.

And, again - just being healthy doesn't protect anyone against a novel virus.
