The olde story I'm afraid. People have Mortgages to pay, kids to feed etc, just the same, so there would be a reluctance to isolate & stay away from workplaces especially if all the sick pay has been used up previously with "False Alarms, but needs must.

You may also be forgetting that some of the spread can be attributed to those who do not know they have it and are actually going about their daily stuff while also unwittingly spreaders.

When eldest daughter gave it to us she was pretty much non symptomatic at the time and had dismissed her symptoms as hayfever. She has done quite a few RATs since with the same hayfever symptoms, tested out of caution and come up negative every time.

Ba Ba 2 is adding about 1% or a bit more or less to hospital ICUs rates about to increase is expected in the next several weeks.

Masking up may not be compulsory - it may be very very smart as is that 3rd dose for those who have not. A kid with covid coping another variant a few weeks later is not an isolated case. A LOT of cancelled appointments due to they have Covid and have deferred for 6 weeks is killing me. I was scheduling Flu vax for the end of April Double TAP vax ???

The waste water testing has BA2 at 50% here. Ba BA 1 is having its butt kicked in under a week or three! Did I mention get your 3rd dose?

well I had a covid swab and 2 rat's last week, which were negative.

but repeat it next week and it could be positive

What do you mean 3rd dose , there are many thousands of Australians that haven't even had their first dose yet.
Fortunately the majority of Australians are much smarter than that and have had at least their 2nd dose and a goodly percentage of them have also had their 3rd dose as well.
Unfortunately they havent developed a vaccine for "Stupid" yet

New cases NSW 20k ish, vic back to 10k ish reported new so probably times that by 4! Hospitals are getting ready again poor buggers

Its possibly a week or two until the flow on to the very overworked Hospital staff?

Well. I'm at a loose end, at the moment. I'd be prepared to volunteer as a vaccine testee.
