I have personally have no issue with WA getting a reduced allocation whilst there was higher immediate demand in "hotspot" states. What I do take issue with is the PM and NSW Premier deriding us for "living in a cave" whilst our vaccination rates are behind NSW. We're behind NSW as we had some of our allocation redirected to them!

My limited impression of SA politicians over this process (given I'm looking from outside) is they appear to have remained fairly apolitical and just concentrated on getting/keeping their own ship in order. Most other State pollies seem to want to rattle their sabers.

Tasmania barely rates a mention either. My theory is that the east coast mainland states, WA and the feds politicised the issue, trying to score ideological points. SA and Tas largely ignored the ideological decisions and based their cautious decisions on medical advice, aligning their soloutions closely to the soloutions of their political adversaries, Queensland, Victoria and WA.

Well no - the uptake is just not as good as elsewhere - remember you have as much AZ as you need.

Yet on the ground here, people are waiting several weeks for appointments.

AZ also requires 12 weeks before the second jab, so even if all that wanted it had their first jab tomorrow, we wouldn't see high double jab numbers until well into December. Pfizer has a much faster double jab proficiency...

Even with some states getting extra allocations……..there now seems to be flood of Pfizer in SEQ.

I was booked for 1st Oct but now getting 1st jab next week through a pop up clinic at the school my youngest attends.

On that logic, why was Pfizer moved to NSW, they have as much AZ as they need!
The answer, people are holding out for Pfizer.

Wasn’t the NSW outbreak declared a National Emergency (back when they had less than 140 cases a day).

Thanks to the extra doses now they can talk about opening up again at 1400 cases a day.

About time VIC declared a Global Emergency. Covid Mk ll

In all seriousness - of course extra doses needed to go to NSW at the time. Sadly we will need twice as many extra doses in VIC rolled out quick smart to avoid the outbreak here overwhelming the hospital system.

All indicators are the VIC outbreak will have a lot more cases and run a lot longer than NSW if we don’t catch up soon with the vaccine roll out to bring the rate of reproduction back down closer to 1 than 2.

Yep, haven't noticed any baby tantrums, Dummy spits or toys going west. (no pun intended, no honestly).
No doubt there have been some behind the scenes, but not public brawling.

Have been quite happy with our SA Govt's performance despite some criticisms especially about lock downs happening too quickly, which will hold Steve in good stead come election time. Proof of the pudding stuff.
IMHO we don't have the Eastern Seaboard egos to compete with either.

BUT, it still could be early days etc.
