...... How many women do you see with their noses over masks for example. Round here it's only men as a rule that don't give a ****.
    Cloth, Genuine, "clone"-surgical or N95's ?

Over here, ANY cloth mask is 'legal', along with the conventional offerings. Yet the DANMASK and a Pakistan trial both concluded efficacy of (cloth) masks as no better than 15 to 20%, and 2 metre anti-social distancing demonstrably better at reducing transmission.

I'm recovering from a massive beard / skin infection... nothing to do with moist air pathogens and damp mask....

Back in the post 'Helen Reddy' days in the late 70's a lot of strident feminist 18 yo's I knew thought that the whole concept of a drug that prevented pregnancy and ensured no periods on weekends was a male chauvinist thing.

A drug designed by men to enhance their lives, especially on weekends.

I reckon these days women are a bit more pragmatic and don't want an extended tinder experience to be hampered on a weekend.

So, to state the bleeding obvious - being vaccinated confers immunity, that is the ability to resist disease.

And, again - just being healthy doesn't protect anyone against a novel virus.
I did not make any comment at all on what "immunity" means - so I really don't need to refer to a dictionary.

If you knew how the currently used COVID vaccines work, you would not make such a statement as "So, to state the bleeding obvious - being vaccinated confers immunity, that is the ability to resist disease" in a discussion about COVID vaccines.

And can you please point out where I stated that "just being healthy DOES protect anyone against a novel virus" instead of just stating comments in there to deflect from the fact that I think you don't know what you are talking about.

In case you can't remember, you posted -

"Covid 19 is a new virus and no-one has any immunity to it until they've had it (and survived) or had a vaccine",

which implies that you ARE "immune" to the virus if you have previously caught it (and survived) or had a vaccine - which I think is a totally incorrect statement.

Anything you have since thrown up as an argument to my original comment on your post is "red herrings" trying to deflect from the fact that your statement has been called out to be WRONG.

I had to go into emergency on Friday to get a nasty abscess cut open - no covid check in or anything for the emergency area but afterwards when I had to go through the public areas of the hospital to get back to my car I had to repeatedly check in.

But - while waiting to be seen, all patients had either surgical or N95s on, the staff were all surgical masks and in walked a tradie with a cloth mask - he was stopped on the spot, ordered to remove his cloth mask and given a surgical mask to wear - so even the medical people do not like cloth masks.

The bacteria in my wound turned out to be a nasty anti-biotic immune critter and even though I had it all cut out and cleaned on Friday I was called back to the hospital on Sunday to get better, stronger stuff to deal with it - not much happening yet - I can post pics if you like .

Like I said, immunity doesn't mean what you seem to think it does. Getting Covid and surviving does give you immunity, and I was discussing that with a doctor last week. Having a vaccine does give you immunity - that's the point of it. No, that doesn't mean that you'll never get Covid again and no, vaccines don't provide protection for ever - but I think that we're all aware of that now.

Certainly not, when there is the Washing, Ironing, Folding up & putting away, Meals to get & the old man's boots to be polished & the car to clean.

When he comes home there will be his fishing togs to wash & fish to gut & freeze. Work clothes to prepare for Monday etc etc etc.
