Never ever (I know that is bad grammar according to my primary school teacher of yore but she probably won't read this. )

never pay anyone all the money up front. Pay only for the work done by Progress Claims on presentation of their invoice. Usually that sorts out the Bushrangers from the Bank Managers, not always, but it lets them know you are keeping them honest.


Sort of like "Oh ****, this guy means business."

Ok, as far as I'm concerned it is General Chat. I had to place it somewhere & really could not locate Flight (I can now of course)

It'll last a lot longer in flight, Des. It will be lost and buried within days, in GC.

I feel your pain! Having previously learned the hard way also, I obtained several quotes for a re-roofing job after the widespread 2015 Bris. hailstorm. I negotiated with RACQ for a payout to manage the job personally: they said OK, just tell us when it's completed to your satisfaction...and sent the $$$ upfront to my account. Couldn't fault them.
