Thread: Scams and rotters

Had an email yesterday telling me my internet account has been suspended and I would need to click on the link to renew access.

Hovering over the link, which appears to be the ISP's web address, reveals a totally different address, revealing it instantly as a scam.

And a few days ago, why would "mygov" be sending me emails from a NZ address and asking me to log in to a Russian address?

Just looking at the actual addresses on the email and links is a powerful tool to identify scams.

Phone call while I was swimming last night- blue tooth music/podcast running head set is water resistant. The heavily accented person was determined to convince me I had a lost "block chain trading account"

She didn't mention how many millions it was worth! You have to feel a bit sorry for the pathetic liars who clearly know they are that when they hang up. Apparently a UK number 447930698091

Reported as SPAM I did once look at lost Super finder on the ATO web site and failed to find any money I lost

I get that one every 2-3 days at the moment... I've had some choice conversations not polite for this forum

I would hate to be in the position where I relied on my phone for business. I usually get about 10 calls a week from automated diallers that hang up if they don't get a response. If an unknown number calls and doesn't leave a message then they can't be that interested in listening to me.

I block the scammers on my phone but they still want to call me....
It goes straight to msg bank and it comes up as "scam call" on ph log.
Delete....

What I don't understand is how do they seem to have an unlimited supply of numbers.

They spoof them… eg. Make it up - they can broadcast whatever number with whatever country ID they like
