Yes indeed, Heather. I know of the history. They sometimes talk to me about Mario.
Hi John I know they will, when I spoke to Tim on the Wednesday, he said to get it tow to them. I said that I will get it towed on Thursday, I did ring again on Thursday and spoke to Tony to let him know the car was on it way up there and he said that Tim had told him that I rang about my car. I have no worry with them as they knew Mario and they did buy some stuff from us when our business was new.

Glad that worked out for you.Breakdowns are never fun. I think I have helped push several dozen broken down cars or more out of harm's way or worse push starting them
.
Surprised they didn't tell you to wait out of the car. Its often very dangerous being in a broken-down car on or beside the road. A few police died just a few years ago very sadly from that issue on the Eastern Freeway. I miss my chats with one of them and his family that came into my business for a decade or two![]()
Hi John rang them today, and spoke to Tim. They got it up on the hoist and Tim thinks it is the transmission it is a dual clutch power shift and it might be the plastic clips that has broken. why do they sure plastic clips in cars. I have never drove the car hard. He is going to look in to it more. I looked in to it on google and it is a fault with these. I have Brendon's car here that I am using. So I wait until Tim tells me whats what. So if it is do I get another transmission ??? This is where I need Mario, I will talk to Tim and Tony and see what may be the best if it turn out to be the transmission.
any update?

No sorry no update on the car, when I spoke to Tim on Wednesday he did think it was the transmission, and he was going to look in to it further. I said that fine, I do have my other son Brendon car here, the one that live in Japan.
I was stressed out about it but my son said if it is that problem, it would be better to get it fixed than buying another car. And then I would have 2 cars to drive I wouldn't get high ks on the new transmission. The engine would give out before the trans. Second hand cars are quite dear now for something with low ks. And I do love the Fords, sorry about that lol. When I met Mario he was driving a Ford. until later years he got his first D1 and then D2 and then pride and joy the Range Rover L322.
Is this the Ford, Heather? I would certainly take Tim's advice re whether it's worth it. But anything else will have its problems as well, unless you go new. I would probably keep it if it were me, but then I have a D2 so what do I know?

Hi John it is the Ford Mondeo 2012 and there was a fault with the transmission I can not remember what year to what year but I know mine was one of them from goggle it, but mine seemed to have lasted a lot longer then what I have read. I will go with what Tim and Tony says when I get the full information about the car. I still have Brendon 2010 Kia sport , that Mario helped Brendon to buy it.
Update on my car, it is the transmission and they can not get parts for the transmission. My friend was having her car serviced by a mobile mechanic they used my drive way and I got talking to him and he said if I want transmission specialise he said Torque Shift in Pakenham are the best. I did look up reviews on them before I found out what was what today. And they seem to have a glowing recommendations. So I rang them at 4.55pm before they closed and talk to a guy called Dave, he said that they can do a whole new rebuild for 6800. I was thinking it would be 6000 if uptech did it. And he said he could take the car. So now to get it towed to Pakenham by RACV, just hope they will allow another tow. Looking at second hand cars they are just so over the top with there prices, anything good you are looking at well over 20,000 + and then you don't know the history of the car and how it was treated. A friend that lives 3 doors from me and was Mario fishing mate, he was on google and Ford never did do a recall on those transmission, and there is a class action going on and he said I should join, it might take years but if I could get some money for it I would be happy. I google if RACV would do another tow as it can not be done by uptech ad needs a transmission place that does total rebuild, And it comes up as yes they will tow it to another place that can do the work. So I will be on the phone tomorrow to get the ball rolling. Just lucky I have Brendon's car here I can use.
Update. my car is now at Torque Shift in Pakenham, So I wont have any more news about the car for a while, when talking to Tim at uptech and telling him what they said about the car he thinks they are going to do an upgrade for the transmission. Tim couldn't get parts for the transmission due to age, as we all know with Landrovers when they hit a age you can not find parts for them. I did get a call from Dave and said the car had arrived safe and sound, and he did say that he imports alot of his parts. And if I was to buy through Ford for a new transmission it would be well over 11,000. He also told me that he hadn't put up his price as of yet, but a lot of other people in the business has done so
