SAS Rover on P4 of Oz today. What tyres?

Ok, this is one of our aussie ones, from REMLR, showing the tyres that I think that we are talking about. I've seen a couple of variations. I have a pid from the DOD website somewhere that shows the tyres markings. I'll look it up in a moment.

Ok, here are a couple of photos croped from the high res version of a dod photo (aus) In one you can make out good year on the side of the tyre. It's the same pattern as my sime konvoys almost, and it is the same as the GT radial xtra grip. Olympic Extra Grip High Milers is also the same pattern, as is the Goodyear Custom Xtra Grip Hi miler, as pictured.

Used to have thoses tyres on a Lightweight i had. They look very much like the Firestone SATs but they have stopped making them

The tyres on the Brit L/R in pics run the 16' version of Aust Army Mog Dunlop tyres (fasing them out to a newer tyre), our L/R use Olympic Steeltreks on standard ver 4x4, 6x6 because they do 80% road 20% off road (no split rims) the others (L/R) use split rims, so they can change tyres easy and Goodyear due to the more open tread.

Sorry for the dumb supplementary question but in the Australian a few days ago the picture was tagged courtesy of the DOD and Phoenix mentioned DOD photos. I'd be interested in looking at some SAS Landy photos, is there a site I can browse?

They are very close to the ones I saw in tread pattern,still willing to say they were Armstrongs,only because Ive only ever seen Armstrong tyres on farm equipment.They were definately not goodyear or olympic.

G'day All

Yep! those tyres are branded "Goodyear" and they definately look like they are "Conventionals" (Crossply) Goodyear brand is owned by Dunlop-Pacific Manufacturing which in Australia markets their tyres under the "Goodyear" label having retired the "Dunlop" and "Olympic" brands to limited use.
