1958 Vee Dub beetle - owned by the local newsagent where I worked on weekends. He angle grinded the roof off, patched it, spray painted it bright orange, ripped out the seats, and left only the driver's seat and a high rise "paper" throwers seat in the rear. The man was a visionary. That was my car every weekend in the late 70's and didn't the girlies love it down at Cronulla!!

Paddock basher was an old Valiant ute, white with a three on the column!

First road registered car was an 1974 XB Fairmont, it was hand-painted in gunmetal grey that someone had knocked off from the Navy. But it did have 12 slotters, 351 and a 4 speed. And a 17 year old with that is dangerous!

Other cars since then (in order):
XE Fairmont Ghia - ESP model (manual)
    1974 Premier - 308, auto, 20,000 original miles - one gorgeous car
TR Magna - Family car - they tried to settle me down!!!
Series 1 VT Supercharged Commodore - what a piece of crap!
1998 Verada Wagon - modified and a whole lot of fun actually.

But to be honest - I can't wait to get back into building myself another older vehicle. This time will most likely be an old Holden ute I reckon. Nice and easy to do.

    Good topic

My first car was a 1994 Honda civic 4 door... VTEC hehe
I got rid of it because the condition was too good, nothing to fix!

Also too slow. My cars have just gone down hill from here!... (Except for my range rover of course!)
    My next car was a 83' 2cylinder 990cc Subaru Sherpa for $500

My grandfather use to own a supercharged front wheel drive Alvis (I think the vintage was around the late 1920s) -- very much ahead of its time. They use to race it at Bathurst and the old Maroubra Speedway (which is long gone). I think the front wheel drive Alvis was actually banned from racing after a few nasty accidents.

Anyway, my first car was Morris 1500. Lovely car with one of the best rides of any car I have been in!

Mine was a XA Falcon 500 done up to look like a GT. Went into a telegraph pole at about 70kph driving by myself on my L's and walked away.

Since then I lost track of how many cars I have had since then, would have to be somewhere in the 60-80 range, last I recall it was in the 40'a about 10 years ago.

Some of the other noteables in no real order were

1970 HG Bathurst 350 Monaro (Wish I still Had this)
    5 or 6 GQ Patrols
    WB Statesman 308
    EL Falcon
    HG Kingswood 186
    3 FJ/BJ 40's
    HJ47 Troopy
    Mini Panelvan
    3 Rangies (Still have 2)
    XC GXL 351
    2 Gutlux's
    Surf
    Sirion
    3 Series BMW
    LX Torana Hatch
LJ Torana with a 350 chev
HT Prem with a 400 SB Chev
80 Series LC with a 6.5L TD Chev
    100 Series LC
5 or 6 Commodores of all years right up to VZ
    Mits Colt
    JB Camira
    TC Gemini
XJS Jag with a 350 chev
    Celica
    Cresida
    x19
    TR7
There are more but I just can't remember them all

    And the bikes

    Suzuki ER185
    GPZ1100
    CR500
    ZZR1100
    XR250

    Plus about 15 Jetskis

OK. It's a list is it.

    1960 VW Beetle.
1968 VW Kombi (made into camper)
    1969 Fiat 124 AC Coupe
    1970 Fiat 128 2Door Sedan
1969 Fiat 124 Stn Wagon (1608 cc TwinCam from 125)
    1976 Fiat 128 Coupe
    1983 Datsun 720 Dual Cab 4wd ( shudder )
1981 Landrover Stage 1 V8 Stn Wagon (still have)
1991 EA Falcon Wagon (without doubt, the worst car I have owned)
    2000 Ford Laser Hatch
2003 Mazda Astina Hatch (still have)
    2006 Defender Extreme (current drive)

The Fiats were great, especially handling wise when matched up with Aust and Jap offerings at the time. Tin worm was always a problem though.
Pre Landrover, the Kombi took me places average drivers feared to tread. Also lapped Australia in it in 1975 and that was fun then, without the constraints of modern times.

The missuses also added a Mini 850 and a Datsun 180B. Enough said.
