those plates on the pics are a UK thing..(arent you lucky i printed those pics first time round and put them on the bday wishlist)

I wont swear to it but I think Ive seen em in LRO and there was a url to the supplier which may have been mentioned in the thread...

that site actually makes em as sand ladders as well theres a link to em on the page...

but the specs on their normal flooring indicate that it should in theory support the weight of an unladen d110

I've seen anchors like this before on boats:

    http://images.google.com.au/imgres?i...lr%3D%26sa%3DN

I wonder if this type would do the trick, they are pretty small, dunno about cost though. Any boat'ers aout there hazard a guess?

got two of the sand ladders from the mob in melbourne, they are rated as bridging ladders and will hold the landie over a 1.0meter ditch. will use them as an anchor as they are narrow and will be quick to dig in. have made up a steel plate and a rated eye bolt to put through one, through the steel plate at the rear to provide a hard surfae to bear on. hook on the winch and away we go. and they are cheaper than the maxtrax and much, much stronger.
