my first big one was the Rock-arena concert at the old sydney showground in about '77. it had little river band, a band called "creation" which featured tetsu yamamuchi form "free", kevin borich express, santana and fleetwood mac.
late 70's saw numerous shows of the oils at the antler, along with chisel, australian crawl, swanee, billy thorpe, echo and the bunny men, ian gillan band, gangajang, meo245, ayers rock, models etc
the big concerts in the 80's included but not limited to- robert plant at ent cent, deep purple at ent cent, joe cocker at ent cent (fell asleep), U2 at ent cent, police at hordern, page and plant at ent cent,(or was that the 90's?), jethro tull at the state theater, yes we are in the 90's now, alice cooper supported by paul rogers of bad company/free, genesis, peter gabriel (awesome), pink floyd (ent cent) and as they say many more!
oh and there was blood sweat and tears at coogee bay, and the who last year or the year before and that was supported by you am i. i'd wanted to see them for quite a while after hearing their work on triple j, but they were f&^)&(^g shocking live, they just have no idea. this was exemplified when the who stepped on stage and hit their first couple of chords

    Cripes, now your talking.
We made special trips to town in the good ol days of the Stadium,
and we saw omongst others including the support acts :
Bill Haley and The Comets. Josephine Baker. Nat King Cole. Johny Ray.
Johny O'Keefe. Little Richard. The Platters. The Beatles, and a lot that I cant remember.
At the Horden, Shirley Bassey ( my favorite ).
Somewhere, Marcia Hines, jeese, had goose bumps for three days after
and it took two more for the swelling to go down !
Favorite show : Jesus Christ Superstar, with John English and Marcia.
During the seventies we went to all the shows at the Hilton Hotel, Peter
    Allen was outstanding.
We also loved the Ballet, had conscription and season tickets for years.

The best of all tho, was the sound off the bush, be it under the back off a semi or in me swag somewhere. I'll never forget the times being woken up
by the sounds of Correla's wanting to know what I was ? Or the old
stock horse munching on grass in the mustering camps.
I dont appreciate all of that other noise and thump and bang, any more.
We have a wireless around the place somewhere, but it never gets turned on.
    Cheers.

Now...if we are talking tight pants the prize would have to go to Robert Plant, whose pants were so tight he dressed both left and right!!

Apparently he wore them out before removing them completely. You can tell he was rich though, you can see the roll of 20p pieces in his left pocket. Personally I think he used to get the jeans airbrushed on.

The most FUN would have been Primus at the Palace, or The Brown Hornet at the Evelyn.

Cranky used to be good for a look and listen too.

In about 1970 - 1973 I attended the Ryde NSW hall where some local bands played lots of songs and noise - I vaguely remember they were ACDC, Hush, Sherbet, LaDeDas and a few others for us (then under-aged) kiddies, admission was zip - the early days of the "Blue Light Disco" theme.......
    ha!

Anyone at the Bondi Lifesaver around 1974-6? I was a soundmixer for a few gigs, mostly Rose Tattoo and Ted Mulry.....
