Studs, as in regard to a wall, are the vertical beams, not some sort of brace.
Hello All,
After fitting the replacement fuel pump that I received under warranty and having it causing the same fuel gauge error as the first replacement unit, I decided to write straight to the manufacturer. Their very prompt replies stated in the first message that there were "two different modules" for the same year VY 2004 Commodore. After responding to their request for the vehicle's registration number - plus my sending them the VIN, I received a second message stating ... This module is not correct by my listing for your vehicle. The module that I believe to be correct will not be available until next year."
I went back to the online supplier's site and re-checked their "Compatibility" drop-down menu which said that the fuel assembly I chose is described as "Green tick ... This item fits version(s) of the Holden Commodore 2004 VY Wagon 3.8i V6 RWD Petrol 3.8L 6cyl 152kW LN3 3791cc 152kW Petrol".
It is funny how the manufacturer of the unit states that "the module is not correct".
While I feel somewhat vindicated that I have not accidentally done something wrong when installing the replacement fuel modules - I have still had to take the car off the road three times, drop the fuel tank three times and had a dodgy fuel reading twice and the second time is still continuing. If I ever get sent the correct fuel module it means that I have to drop the damn tank again. Oh I sent a terse message to the parts supplier. I am waiting for a reply and some corrective action. Oh Yes .... Not happy - Jan"
Kind regards
Lionel
At least you will be a highly experienced fuel pump replacer at the end gof all this Lionell.[thumbsupbig]
Hello Billy,
Yes - I have decreased the drop and reassembly time for the fuel tank considerably since my first attempt.
Now I just have to sort out some refunds and get a new supplier for the fuel module. Then I can drop the tank for hopefully the last time for this car. At the end of the saga I would like to have a fully functional fuel pump and return to having an accurate fuel gauge.
Kind regards
Lionel
I bought some wood hardener the other day in a trigger bottle but when I went to use it, it wouldn't spray, I've long had an empty spray bottle lying around for this very reason so used that instead.
just buy hardwood instead of softwood......
