    The replacement line trimmer spool arrived from the UK today! You may recall I was previously sent a vacuum cleaner part.

    Too bad it was the wrong spool.

    Ron, can't you replace the head with a non-genuine one? I have with mine, it works much better and more economically.

    No, just the line. Most trimmers use a generic head- ryobi,homelite etc all interchange.

    No, it's different to the others hence the next step is to try a new head as suggested by Ian.

    Otherwise, I'll go to Stihl and buy a new current model trimmer. I've had this one 25 years and I doubt a Chinese brand will last even a few years.
