I, at christmas time, had a tyre let go, as I can't say who/what it was incase I get deleted, I'll sit back with a Coopers and tell my story.
Towing a trailer (100-150kgs load) at 100-110ks (out back Vic) with my wife + 3 boys l/h rear lets go and destroys the 1/4 panel, $1300 damage, and for a short period we, inc me, were all passengers.
Now, these (rear) tyres were on the front lucky no one was coming the other way as I "used" all the road to stop. Anyway on further looking found r/h rear starting to "crack". There was only 1/4 of the tread left on the tyre and rust mark about the size of a small plate on steelbelt when we collected what was left over about 200m of road.
I approached said dealer on my return and they sent out their rep, long story short all tyres were replaced, 3x them (in good faith) 2x by me and they paid my excess on ins for repairs, 3mths after the fact due to a few nice and not so nice ph calls/emails.
Now this is were it gets worrying for all concerned with 4wd tyres ladies and gents.
My tyres did not have M & S stamped on them, they say these tyres were not made for 4wds, they checked and found the previous owner had brought them from a dealer in Sydney who was infact an authrorised seller of this brand, so they had no leg to stand on. They replaced these with L/T (light truck tyres) of this brand and I purchased some new heavy duty jocks and still have finger marks on the dash from the boss, (wife) didn't know she could put so many swear words into a sentance
My ins (WQBE) informed me that this could have been a "funny" one, there rep came out and took photo's of the car and tyre/s and we had a talk of the situation.
How many of you out there fall into this situation?????????????

I think the people that are fitting larger tyre sizes than what was originally put on the vehicle like 31' and 33' would have more to worry about.

Thrasher, fair enough English is a second language, but it is a little hard to read. From what I interperate you had aset of Coper ATRs delaminate. This is a known problem in a certain batch. Get hold of the Australian importer and let them know your problem. If needed have some one that can speak perfect English for you to avoid any confusion if it is any sort of issue. They know about these tyres. Take them to small claims court and remember to pull any info you can find on existing court cases. There have been a few. I have Cooper STTs and am reasonablly happy with them apart from the fact that I was supposed to get the new style but ended up with the older style. Not the tyrepower places fault but Coopers. Their warranty is not worth a piece of crap anyway, read the fine print about highway use only and only in the vicinity of a capital city. No better than the statuatory warranty anyway that must be provided. I actually had a bolt go through a tread block. Most tyre places will actually tell you the warranty is worth nothing. I would be asking them for a credit on the cost of 4 new ATRs and pay the difference to upgrade to STTs. Ring them and tell them if they do not come to the party you will be seeking legal advice. I went through this with Bridgestone a few years back, but found talking directly to the State mamager resolved the issue quickly. The reps were adamant it was my fault. The tyre was only on the car 4 days and done about 80kms and had a large balloon in the side wall, delamination. There are numerous court proceedings going on about delamination, fatalities, injuries and damage caused by a couple of tyre brands delaminating worldwide. Best of luck.

Hell didn't mean to start anything,
thrasher just worked out where palmy is, i think.
I thought regardless of the roads that most tyres would be covered,

Its a bit sad when they won't cover you because of the bad roads that are around you,
I take it the 5 tyres you got were freebys, thats a bit like saying something was wrong with them.
