    What drinking problem?

The NT Government has just published the alcohol consumption figures for 2006.

    http://www.nt.gov.au/justice/licensi...oholReport.pdf

Apparently the average Territorian has an average weekly consumption of 24.5 standard drinks and an average per drinking day of 7.07 standard drinks

I'm lucky if I have 2 beers a week, so someone is making up for my lack of participation!

    I don't have a drinking problem - I drink, get drunk, fall over.....no problem!

I'm not an alcoholic - they go to meetings!

God, that is not even a carton, let alone the wine and spirits. I have cut down in my retirement and old age and rarely have a drink from Sunday night to Friday afternoon and I beat that by a mile. I was on merchant ships with guys who drank that every day.

I wonder how many of them are still with us
7 standard drinks per day probably puts you in the alcoholic area. But of course, thats an average so some are alcoholic and some are not

Mind you, I don't think that Australia is in the top stakes when it comes to alcohol consumption per capita. Isn't Germany ahead?

I think you may be right - but if you look at individual states or territories rather than whole countries, NT wins.

Must have shorter weeks in NT, too. Using NSW maths 7.07x7=49.49.
