Trouble is they see the TDV8 as a "Premium" engine for the range rovers only at this stage.

Me, i'll take a TDV8 Auto defender thankyou very much

I'd like to be in a position to wait some time after the new Defender is here so problems are sorted - but I don't have a LR or any 4X4 at the moment and I've been waiting since last November - perhaps I should buy a Cruiser instead and get the Defender in a few years from now - yeah right!

Well OK - I'm now convinced...

    1) Family reckons the new Defender will still be junk,
    2) Most 4X4 retailers - same as above,
    3) The Geo Seismic company I work for - same as above,
    4) Many here, on an actual Land Rover users website, offer similar views i.e. new model, untested, engine too small, don't buy it yet etc etc.
    5) I'm over the wait.

So - The wait is over - I'm going to work out an alternative vehicle. I was really wanting a Defender but I just can't see myself buying second hand. This exercise of getting into 4 wheel driving is proving to be rather more difficult than I'd imagined.

My sentiments exactly, though I reckon I could figure out a few more gizmos and add-ons ... hmmmm

Why would you want the first 2000? Surely one would suffice!
