My daughter bought herself a small used car (not l/r) from a dealer and had a pre delivery check and service. Six weeks later it was due for a logbook service so in it went..Front disk pads worn out and disks needed re surfacing. They wanted to charge $100 for each disk until I pionted out that if their mechanic had done his job at the pre delivery inspection the disks would not have got to this state. Surprisingly he agreed and wiped the repair bill.
... and it doesn't take long before the guestbook entries start to come in - "Gee, I've driven a Toyota for 500,000,000 miles and never bothered to have it serviced once, Land Rovers can't be much good if they cause you this much trouble..." *groan*

I wonder what the fine print was did he go over the service period by 10 km's I do not go for them myself as you have to get them serviced by a dealer/agent
