    Buy of the century

    1d5f_1.jpg

Look what I Just bought. ser111 81 model It goes great with 6 months rego. 860 bucks.

I will be driving it from the gold coast to sydney to fix it up then returning to our property in noosa. what should i replace and check before the the drive south. I have seen in 4wd monthly the diesle service fluid which can claim to save 800 odd bucks. but i am after a real opinion. it is a 2.4 diesle original but reconditiond 3000kaks ago.

open to all advice and info on the car.

    thanks.

Thanks. yea could not belive the price. but a deat is a deal. would like to know how to stick a #bay page onto the forum so you guys can see the whole add.

Very nice, almost identical to my old girl. All I would do is drop the oil and replace with a new filter. Check diff oil levels and transfer case etc. make sure wheel bearings are ok and cruise on down at about 90kph. Hope you like humming to yourself because that is all you will hear at cruising speed in an old diesel.

    G'day Willvine

Congratulations on your new purchase, looks very good, send Incisor a PM re the CEM treatment for the Diesel Before you go check the condition of the following.

Top and Bottom Radiator hoses,Fan Belt Condition, Condition of Radiator water and Cap,Brake and Clutch fluid (take a 500ml bottle with you, castrol Dot4 $8 aprox)

check condition of the tyres, including the walls inner and outer, check flexible brake hoses, brake adjustment (if in doubt how to do it, just post your questions )

    Check:
    Engine oil 20-40 (Delo 400)
    G'box oil (EP-90)
    Transfer case (EP-90)
    Both Diffs (EP-90)
    Swivel Hubs (EP-90)
Taking spare oil with you would be wise if you know you have a leak

The diesel is no speed machine so 85-90 would be tops.

If you have any questions PM me

    cheers
    Uncle Ho
