Thread: can't afford fuel..... give up smokes

Had my last one at about 10:45pm last night, went on the patches this morning and havnt felt like one all day.

Im one of the stupid people that give up and then start again but this time I have to give it away permanently as I go in for a minor heart operation in Sept and I dont see the use in repairing my heart and then stuffing it up again by smoking.

The thing is I get my fuel as part of my package at work so I will spend my money on accessories rather than fuel.

We also have a 300tdi so I dont need a second mortgage to go for a drive like some of you poor guys with V8's but I would love some power, just a little bit more would be good lol.

That's the problem - you shouldn't be eating your cigarettes!

Good going Dobbo. My work smoko buddy is retiring in 14 working days. I'm thinking of convincing myself into doing then. Gives me 3 weeks to plan and think. Also get the motivation.

Your right you know, for all the good they do I might as well have been shoving them.................................

I had a few cravings earlier, around 2200hrs but got over them with a curry. So officially it's 28hrs and no smokes, a few snaps at folk and shakin' steven hands, cold sweats, blocked nose and coughing crap up that looks like roadbase. The wierdest part is it feels like life has slowed down, I felt like I was more proactive at work and got a heap done but I got over the hard bit, the guys at work, some are supportive, some offered smokes.

In short I feel like crap

Crump it's not that bad and you can live without them, I don't think I'd have one if I wanted one basically because of the black **** I keep coughing up. Getting up this morning was harder without a ciggie but not impossible it was harder when I realised it was my one day off and I still had to get out of bed before 0700hrs
